Movement as Language
Dance is a universal language that is continuously evolving through human interaction. Whether you are just discovering your flow or looking to deepen your practice, each session is crafted to move you towards your goals.
The Method
Building Vocabulary
Before we speak, we must learn the words. Precision of movement is developed through repeated practice. We will focus on the core mechanics of fusion belly dance by drilling isolations, locks, and postures that form the essential building blocks of the style.
The Grammar of Flow
Now we string the words together, adding complex layering, musicality, and transitions to your flow. Movements become illusions, and space is created for emotive elements. Isolations begin to move energy throughout the body with less effort.
Storytelling
In this stage, complex techniques are combined with deeper story or emotion to create a cathartic inner and outer experience. Allow this deepened relationship with your body to deepen your relationship to life.
A Little About Me
Amanda Kaye has been studying, teaching, and performing fusion belly dance since 2018. A synchronized swimmer throughout her childhood and a fire spinner for over a decade, movement is a thread that she has always followed. Helping her fellow humans discover their passion for dance has been one of the greatest gifts of her life.
Story based choreography has helped Amanda more deeply understand the world around and within her. Creating space for others to experience the delights of this aspect of movement has become a passion. She combines focused technical practice with exploratory improvisation to assist in the growth of her students.
Her teaching is influenced by the many teachers she has been blessed to train under over the years, such as Jill Parker, Zoe Jakes, Colleena Shakti, Swan (Sedona) Soulfire, and April Rose.

This dance is not mine. I owe everything to the birthplaces of belly dance throughout North Africa and the Middle East, and the dancers and musicians who have shared their practices throughout the centuries.
I teach a fusion of it that I have accumulated over years of study, and do my best to respect and honor its source cultures. I love belly dance and am eternally grateful to be a student of such an empowering lineage.
If you study with me, I hope you fall in love with the roots too. I hope to be a useful resource on your journey.
Questions
I’m a complete beginner. Is this for me?
Absolutely. First-time dancers are welcome, and private sessions move at your pace with clear, supportive instruction in the foundations.
I already dance. Can sessions challenge me?
Yes. Sessions scale to advanced work: refined technique, layering, musicality, and full choreography. Share your goals and the session is built around them.
How do the live sessions work?
After you book, an email brings everything you need: a private video link for online, or the studio address for in person. One-on-one, for the length you booked.
What should I wear?
Anything you can move comfortably in. Bare feet or socks work well. Bring a hip scarf if you have one. It’s helpful but not required.
Do I need experience for the group classes?
None at all. Every group class is built for all levels: movements are broken down from zero, and you take them at your own pace. Total beginners are half the room.
What do I need at home for a group class?
A little open floor space and comfortable clothes.
Do I have to be on camera?
Never. Cameras are completely optional. Dance seen, dance unseen, both are welcome. Many students keep their camera off for the first few classes and that is perfectly normal here.
How does payment work?
All sessions are booked and paid securely online by card, powered by Stripe. Booking your next session while you are at the studio is easy too. We set it up together on the spot and payment still runs safely online. No cash needed.
